MANASSAS, VA – November 7, 2016 – ASSETT, Inc. has been awarded a Phase II contract to continue Phase I work developing the ASSETT Acoustic Array Assessment Tool (A4T) under SBIR Topic N121-055. This effort will allow the Navy to maintain an acoustic advantage over its adversaries, while simultaneously addressing major sonar cost drivers.
“We are thrilled to continue our critical A4T work to allow the Navy to maintain an acoustic advantage, and proud to strengthen our relationship with Naval Sea Systems Command and Team Submarine,” says ASSETT CEO Wayne Jakubowski.
A4T provides the ability to accurately simulate key impacts of the ocean environment on the array prior to building a prototype and performing sea trials. To address monitoring, maintenance, and repair costs, A4T provides additional maintenance related capabilities reducing or eliminating the need to dry-dock and replace failed sensors. A4T gives the Navy the ability to fully measure and test a SONAR system’s performance prior to developing an Engineering Development Model.
